Jurassic World: Dominion

Cameras are set to start rolling again on Jurassic World: Dominion next month after it was shut down due to the pandemic. Deadline reports that Universal Pictures is planning to resume shooting on the blockbuster in Pinewood Studios near London on July 6th. This will make it the first big studio film to restart production in the UK following the shutdown.

The film will start a two-week pre-production next week, with cast and crew spending two weeks in quarantine before the shoot. Universal will use safety protocols going beyond what the UK British Film Council recommends, including reportedly doing thousands of tests during filming. All cast and crew will be tested before they return to set and then again multiple times during the production. The production will also commission a private medical facility to manage the medical needs, have on-site doctors and isolation booths, utilize anti-viral “fogs” and more.

The film is directed by Colin Trevorrow from a script he co-wrote with Emily Carmichael and stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Daniella Pineda, Justice Smith, Jake Johnson, Omar Sy, Mamoudou Athie, DeWanda Wise, and Dichen Lachman. No synopsis has been released.
