The man who directed Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is taking on the first couple episodes of Amazon’s Lord of the Rings series. Deadline reports that J.A. Bayone will direct the first two episodes of the television series for Amazon Studios. He will also executive produce the show alongside Belén Atienza.

“J.R.R. Tolkien created one of the most extraordinary and inspiring stories of all time, and as a lifelong fan, it is an honor and a joy to join this amazing team. I can’t wait to take audiences around the world to Middle-earth and have them discover the wonders of the Second Age, with a never before seen story,” said Bayona.

The show is being written by JD Payne and Patrick McKay. Game of Thrones episode writer Bryan Cogman is serving as a consultant on the series, which is set during the Second Age, about 3,000 before the events of Lord of the Rings.
