– During a recent edition of the Slash Film podcast (via Heroic Hollywood) this week, Peter Sciretta reportedly revealed some details on what’s possibly happening with the reshoots for the DCEU film, Justice League, and what the reshoots might change. Sciretta claimed the reshoots are not only changing the film’s overall tone but also possibly the ending.

Sciretta stated the following on how the ending could be changed and Stepenwolf’s role in the story:

“The original ending of the movie from what I understand was that he [Steppenwolf] was kind of playing the Silver Surfer role and Darkseid playing kind of the Galactus role, and the ending of the movie was a cliffhanger and Justice League 2 was going to be Justice League vs. Darkseid. Darkseid arrives at Earth. It was kind of like this down, dirty ending and from what I understand that has been completely removed. The ending ends the movie like a movie and it doesn’t leave a cliffhanger now. They did a reshoot with Robin Wright from Wonder Woman and that’s gonna be a flashback explaining who Steppenwolf is and he’s now the big bad of this movie whereas Darkseid was this looming threat who won’t come.”

Sciretta also explained that the change for the ending was a creative decision that the team at Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment thought was a better direction for the franchise. Originally, Justice League was going to be a two-part film. However, those plans were later changed to just focus on the one Justice League movie.

Justice League arrives in theaters on November 17. You can check out another report on what changes are being made to the reshoots RIGHT HERE.
