Justice League Snyder Cut Darkseid

Ray Porter will be seen as Darkseid at last early next year in HBO Max’s Zack Snyder’s Justice League, and he hopes to get the chance to play the supervillain in future films. Porter’s role as the ruler of Apokolips was cut from the theatrical version of the film, but will be restored for the upcoming four-part HBO Max release and Porter said in an interview that he’d like to get the chance to play the role in future DC movies.

“I hope so. I would like that,” Porter told the Greek House Show (per CS.net). “I would love to see that, and obviously I would hope that whoever does that will have me along for the ride. Yeah, I would love to see a continuation of it. And honestly, I personally would love to see a continuation of Zack’s story. So yes, I really hope so. That would be great. I’ve not heard anything about it, but you know. Hope.”

Darkseid has plenty of opportunity to show up in other DC films, being an enemy who has crossed paths with most of DC’s superheroes. In addition, Ava Duvernay is working on a New Gods film and has confirmed that Darkseid will be in the film, though it is not known if Porter will reprise the role for that and the script is still being finished.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League will release as a four-part event on HBO Max in early 2021.
