Despite some early rumors to the contrary, it looks like Marvel Studios will have a presence at this year’s Comic-Con International 2022 in San Diego, California. Speaking last week’s press conference for Thor: Love & Thunder (via SDCCBlog.com), Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige stated that Marvel Studios will have a panel at Comic-Con this year.

This will be Marvel’s first trip to Comic-Con in San Diego since 2019. The convention was cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic. The 2021 Comic-Con Special Edition last November did not have a major studio or comic book publishing presence. Feige stated the following on this year’s convention:

“We’ll be at Comic-Con next month, which we’re excited about. First time since we were on stage there three years ago talking about this movie and many others. And now, I think, almost, not everything but almost everything we discussed three years ago, that was released so we are excited to go and talk about the future.”

San Diego Comic-Con has not yet released a full programming schedule for this year’s convention, so it’s unknown what date the Marvel panel will fall on. However, the convention is scheduled for July 21-24 at the San Diego Convention Center.

Marvel’s next major release is Thor: Love and Thunder, due out in theaters on July 8. Other upcoming projects on the horizon that could be previewed include The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and The Marvels.

Guardians of the Galaxy filmmaker James Gunn also seemingly responded to the news in coy fashion on Twitter, which you can see below.
