LAPD To Meet With DA Next Month On Sexual Misconduct Cases Against Harvey Weinstein, Brett Ratner

The LAPD is set to meet with the District Attorney next month on sexual misconduct cases against Harvey Weinstein, Brett Ratner and James Toback. TMZ reports that detectives will be meeting with the LA County District Attorney on a host of sexual misconduct cases including the three Hollywood figures. According to sources close to the investigation, the LA Police Department’s Sexual Assault Section but still needs to conduct some interviews and write reports.

Detectives were surprised that they were able to get statements from some of the accused individuals. Before some of them acquired criminal defense lawyers, their entertainment lawyers wrote statements denying the claims that were signed by their clients. One source said, “These [entertainment] lawyers cared more about image than jail. They should have never let their clients talk.”

Most of the cases involve one on one situations and lack witnesses, making them hard to prosecute.
