Louis C.K. Buying Back I Love You, Daddy Following Sex Scandal

According to Deadline, The Orchard has confirmed that it is wrapping up a deal to sell the global rights for I Love You, Daddy back to filmmaker and star Louis C.K. The Orchard had acquired the worldwide rights to the black and white comedy after the Toronto Film Festival for $5 million. Louis C.K. will reportedly pay back any money received from the original deal, as well as any marketing costs (roughly $500K-$1M) incurred by the Orchard (suchas money spent includes a brief awards mailing numbering 12,000 DVD screeners to AMPAS, SAG, Golden Globes and Critics’ voting members). At this time, there is no word on how the comedian plans to release the project.
C.K. was accused of sexual misconduct by five women in a story published by the New York Times, in which they claim he masturbated in front of them without their consent. These are the latest allegations following a history of similar claims made against him. This led to FX and HBO cutting ties with him.
