MacKenzie Bezos Could Become World’s Richest Woman Following Divorce From Jeff Bezos

With Jeff Bezos and MacKenzie Bezos headed for divorce, and with no pre-nuptial agreement in place, MacKenzie could soon be the world’s richest woman.

If they split their $137 billion fortune in half, which is what would be expected based on Washington state law which requires property acquired during a marriage to be equally divided in a divorce (the Bezos fortune was acquired after the two were married), MacKenzie would surpass L’Oreal heiress Francoise Bettencourt Meyers, who has a net worth of $45.6 billion.

MacKenzie is a novelist and has four kids with Jeff. She also played a role in Amazon’s early days, reportedly negotiating the company’s original freight contracts.

Jeff Bezos is now reportedly dating So You Think You Can Dance host Lauren Sanchez.
