Marvel’s plans to for a Predator comic and related products has undergone a delay. As was reported last month, Marvel announced that a Predator book written by Ed Brisson with art by Kev Walker was coming that would be set in the continuity of the film series. That series was supposed to launch on June 9th and was described as follows:

“Hunt. Kill. Repeat. In the near future, a young girl sees her family slaughtered by the deadliest and most feared hunter in the universe: a PREDATOR. Years later, though her ship is barely holding together and food is running short, Theta won’t stop stalking the spaceways until the Yautja monster who killed her family is dead … or she is.”

However, Newsarama reports that Marvel has cancelled orders for the series, the Predator Omnibus collection and a series of 20 planned ‘Marvel vs. Predator’ variant covers that would have ran across Marvel’s line of comics to promote the series. No reason was given for the cancellation, though the site reports that some people were not told until yesterday. Marvel has told retailers that they plan to reschedule the products for November at some point but have not actually done so yet.
