Marvel’s plan to bring Blade into the MCU is progressing nicely, and some announcements are set to be made in the imminent future per Kevin Feige. During Disney’s Investor Day 2020 presentation late last week, the Marvel Entertainment CCO spoke at the presentation and amidst all their big Disney+ and movie announcements, he gave an update on the Mahershala Ali-starring Blade film.

“As we announced at Comic-Con last year, we’re moving ahead with Blade, starring Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali,” Feige said during the event. “The development and storylines are coming together, and we’ll have announcements very, very soon.”

Marvel announced development on the Blade MCU-set film back at San Diego Comic-Con 2019. Marvel has been quiet about the film, which is expected to be part of the MCU’s Phase Five, though it was reported in October that the studio was seeking writers for the film.

Blade has, of course, been adapted to film previously in the Wesley Snipes-starring trilogy that sputtered out with Blade: Trinity in 2004.
