The Hollywood Reporter has more casting details for the live-action Masters of the Unvierse movie, which recently began filming. New cast members include the heroic Ram Man and more.

New cast members include Jon Xue Zhang (The Brothers Sun) as Ram Man, Sasheer Zamata (Saturday Night Live, Agatha All Along) as Suzie, and Christian Vunipola (Queenpins) as Hussein. They join the cast opposite Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam/He-Man for director Travis Knight. The Amazon MGM Studios project, based on the classic Mattel line of action figures, is due out in theaters later next year.

Other cast members include Camila Mendes as Teela, Idris Elba as Duncan/Man-at-Arms, Jared Leto as Skeletor, Morena Baccarin as The Sorceress, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, James Purefoy as King Randor, Charlotte Riley as Queen Marlena, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Malcolm/Fisto, Sam C. Wilson as Trap Jaw, Hafthor Bjornsson as Goat Man, and Kojo Attah as Tri-Klops. Plot details are still kept under, but an initial plot synopsis from Variety reported that the film would see a young Prince Adam crash-landing on Earth after being separated from the Power Sword. Two decades later, he locates his sword and takes the mantle of He-Man to save his home planet of Eternia from the forces of Skeletor.

Knight (Bumblebee, Kubo and the Two Strings) directs from a script by Chris Butler (ParaNorman, The Missing Link). This will mark the first live-action version of the property since the original 1987 film, starring Dolph Lundgren as He-Man and Frank Langella as Skeletor.

The original action figure series debuted in 1982, later inspiring the iconic Filmation animated series, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, which ran from 1983 to 1985. It later spun off into, She-Ra: Princess of Power, following the adventures of Prince Adam’s twin sister, Princess Adora, who could transform into the powerful heroine, She-Ra. Over the years, Masters of the Universe has inspired multiple animated updates and reboots, but this is the first live-action version since the 1980s.

Masters of the Universe is due to arrive in theaters on June 5, 2026.
