The Matrix 4 Targeting July Filming Return, Cast Agrees to Production Extensions

The cast for The Matrix 4 is expected to begin filming in July, and they have agreed to extensions to allow the film to complete production. Deadline reports that Warner Bros. is hoping to get production going again in early July in Berlin, and have gotten the cast to agree to eight-week extensions to keep them on hold until July 6th.

The anticipated sci-fi film stars Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jada Pinkett Smith, Priyanka Chopra, Jessica Henwick, Ibarra, Neil Patrick Harris, Toby Onwumere, Brian J. Smith, Eréndira Ibarra, Andrew Caldwell and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. It began filming in February but had to shut down production due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The film is, as of now, tentatively scheduled for a May 21st, 2021 release.
