Variety reports that AT&T Audience Network has renewed the thriller TV series Mr. Mercedes for a third season. David E. Kelley will oversee the writer’s room again and Jack Bender will direct. Temple Hill Entertainment’s Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey will executive produce with Sonar Entertainment’s Tom Lesinski and Jenna Santoianni and Audience Network’s Shane Elrod and Kate Regan.

The TV series is based on the trilogy of books from Stephen King called Mr. Mercedes, Finders Keepers and End of Watch. The third season will consist of ten one-hour episodes. Production begins early next year in Charleston, South Carolina. It will debut some time in 2019. The series stars Brendan Gleeson, Harry Treadaway and Justine Lupe.

AT&T senior executive vice president and chief content officer Daniel York said: “’Mr. Mercedes’ has resonated with such a wide audience, so we’re thrilled to bring it back for a third season for our customers. David E. Kelley, Jack Bender and Sonar have crafted a series that honors the original work by Stephen King and we can’t wait to see where they take the show in a ‘post-Mr. Mercedes world.’
