NBC is in development on a female-led spinoff of their hit Grimm, which ran for six seasons on the network. Deadline reports that the network is working on a series that would feature some of the original characters while also introducing new characters and storylines.

Universal TV and Hazy Mills Productions are producing the prospective series with Melissa Glenn writing the script. Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner will executive producer alongside Glenn, with original series creators David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf serving as consulting producers.

Grimm ran from 2011 through 2017 and was based in Portland, Oregon. It centered around homicide detective Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli), who learns that he is destined to become a guardian called a Grimm, one who keeps the balance between humanity and mythological creatures.
