NBC Officially Cancels Megyn Kelly Today

NBC has pulled the plug on Megyn Kelly Today. The network announced on Friday that that the morning show has been cancelled, saying in a statement, “Megyn Kelly Today is not returning. Next week, the 9 am hour will be hosted by other Today co-anchors.”

The move comes after Kelly brought a new wave of criticism on herself for a segment in which she defended the use of blackface on Halloween, arguing that when she was growing up, blackface was okay. She later apologized, but as noted in yesterday’s report it was the last straw in a series of issues — including low ratings — which ultimately spelled her show’s demise.

Kelly is currently negotiating her exit from NBC.
