NBC Developing TV Series for The Bone Collector

The Wrap reports that NBC is developing a TV series version of the 1999 film The Bone Collector. he original serial killer thriller starred Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie.

The original film is based on the book series by Jeffery Deaver. The film version featured Washington as a forensic criminologist, Lincoln Rhyme, who was left paralyzed after an accident in the field. Rhyme then teams up with a young detective, Amelia Sachs (Jolie), to take down a dangerous criminal.

The NBC series looks to follow a similar plot as the film. The network reportedly has a premium script order for the project. Universal TV and Sony Pictures TV are producing the show in association with Keshet Studios. The original film grossed $151 million worldwide and released by Universal Pictures domestically and Columbia Pictures overseas.

VJ Boyd and Mark Bianculli will adapt the script for the show and executive produce the series with Keshet’s Avi Nir, Alon Shtruzman, Peter Traugott and Rachel Kaplan.
