Netflix Ceases Production On TV and Movies Due To Coronavirus

Entertainment Weekly reports that Netflix has halted production on all of their TV shows and movies in the US and Canada due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. The hiatus will last at least two weeks and is happening “due to government restrictions and health/safety precautions.”

This comes after Warner Bros. halted production on over 70 TV shows, which are either finishing episodes for the end of the TV season or shooting pilots for the fall. Due to the lag time between production and when the episode airs, it could start affecting network schedules in about six weeks. Unscripted shows and sporting events have already been effected, as has film productions. In addition to that, other films that were set for spring release dates have been pushed back.
