Netflix Orders New Ghost in the Shell Anime
The Major Motoko Kusanagi will soon make her return to animation. Netflix has announced that the streaming service has ordered a new anime in the acclaimed franchise, Ghost in the Shell, which will hit the streaming service in 2020. You can see the announcement tweet below.
The new anime series, which is currently titled Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045, will be directed by Shinji Aramaki (Appleseed) and Kenji Kamiyama (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex). The announcement also featured a new image for protagonist Major Motoko Kusanagi.
The announcement from the streaming service comes as Netflix has recently expanded its anime library with orders of new genre series, including Pacific Rim, Altered Carbon, Ultraman and many others.
