New International Sonic The Hedgehog Trailer Introduces Baby Sonic

A new international trailer for Sonic The Hedgehog is out, giving us our first look at Sonic as a child. You can see the Japanese trailer below, which reveals “Baby Sonic” as well as our first look at Emerald Hill Zone.

The film is set to release on February 14, 2020 — pushed out from November due to the hefty character redesign — and stars James Marsden, Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic, Tika Sumpter and Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik. It was directed by Jeff Fowler from a script by Pat Casey and Josh Miller. The synopsis reads:

Based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise from Sega, SONIC THE HEDGEHOG tells the story of the world’s speediest hedgehog as he embraces his new home on Earth. In this live-action adventure comedy, Sonic and his new best friend Tom (James Marsden) team up to defend the planet from the evil genius Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) and his plans for world domination. The family-friendly film also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.
