Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

Lucasfilm has released a pretty awesome new clip (watch it below) from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker that seems to reveal a pretty major plot point. SPOILER WARNING.

In the clip, we hear Emperor Palpatine using his own voice, along with that of Supreme Leader Snoke and Darth Vader himself as we watch Kylo Ren. Palpatine uses the trio of voices to tell Ren that they have been “every voice you have ever heard inside your head.” With Palpatine expected to return in the film, this seems to imply that he has been manipulating Ren using the voices of Snoke and Vader. The clip appears to be the opening of the film with Ren arriving on a planet not previously seen before where he will presumably meet what is left of Palpatine.

The music in the clip also features elements of “Duel of the Fates” from the prequels along with the original Emperor’s theme from Return of the Jedi.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker opens December 20th.
