Coming Soon reports that during New York Comic Con, Brendan Fraser appeared in a special video and announced that Matt Bomer will voice Negative Man in DC Universe’s Doom Patrol. It’s presumed that he will play Larry Trainor in flashbacks, similar to how Fraser will voice Robotman and play Cliff Steel in the flashbacks. Matthew Zuk will provide the character’s physical performance on set in costume. Riley Shanahan was previously announced for the role.

Trainor is a founding member of the team. He was exposed to a radioactive field in the atmosphere while piloting a test plane, making him radioactive. It also gave him the power to release a negatively-charged energy being from himself, the Negative Man. Negative Man can fly at high speeds, make objects explode or go through solid objects. He has to wear bandages over his entire body to protect others from his radioactivity.

Here’s a synopsis: Part support group, part Super Hero team, the Doom Patrol is a band of super-powered freaks who fight for a world that wants nothing to do with them. Picking up after the events of Titans, Doom Patrol will find these reluctant heroes in a place they never expected to be, called to action by none other than Cyborg, who comes to them with a mission hard to refuse, but with warning that is hard to ignore: their lives will never, ever be the same.

The series also stars Joivan Wade as Victor Stone/Cyborg, Timothy Dalton as Niles Caulder/The Chief, April Bowlby as Elasti-Woman, Diane Guerrero as Crazy Jane and Alan Tudyk as Mr. Nobody. The characters will first appear in the fifth episode of Titans. There will be thirteen episodes written by Jeremy Carver and executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Geoff Johns, Jeremy Carver, and Sarah Schechter.
