July 21, 2017 | Posted by Joseph Lee

Coming Soon reports that Paramount has moved several release dates, including the next film in the Cloverfield series, God Particle.

That film was originally set to come out on October 27 but will now arrive on February 2, 2018. Its only direct competition is the horror film Cadaver. It was directed by Julius Onah from a script by Doug Jung (based on an earlier draft by Oren Uziel). It stars David Oyelowo, John Krasinski, Elizabeth Debicki, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Chris O’Dowd, Ziyi Zhang and Daniel Bruhl.

Here’s a synopsis: The plot for God Particle is said to revolve around an American space station that, after an accident with a particle accelerator, suddenly finds that Earth has vanished altogether. Things get stranger when they then pick up traces of another space station nearby.

Meanwhile, Darren Aronofsky’s mother! was moved from October 13 to September 15. It will open against American Assassin, All I See Is You and Brad’s Status. It stars Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem, Michelle Pfeiffer, Ed Harris, Domhnall Gleeson and Brian Gleeson. It follows a couple “whose relationship is challenged with the arrival of some uninvited guests.”

George Clooney’s new film Suburbicon opens on October 27, moved up from its November 3 release date. It opens against Jigsaw, Thank You For Your Service and Professor Marston & The Wonder Women. It stars Matt Damon, Josh Brolin, Julianne Moore, and Oscar Isaac. Joel and Ethan Coen wrote the script.

Here’s a synopsis: The story of the quiet family town of Suburbicon where the best and worst of humanity is reflected through the deeds of seemingly ordinary people. A break-in that ends in death brings out the ugly side of a seemingly perfect family.
