It sounds like the Jurassic World saga will not be ending with the upcoming Dominion if Frank Marshall’s recent comments are accurate. Marshall, who is a producer on the film, spoke with Collider and said that the new film will kick off a “new era” for the blockbuster dino-laden franchise.

“It’s the start of a new era,” Marshall told the site about the new film’s story. “The dinosaurs are now on the mainland amongst us, and they will be for quite some time, I hope.”

Of course, such a supposition is entirely dependent on how Dominion performs at the box office; we’ve seen many a franchise continuation end up killing its series by bombing. That said, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom was a $1.3 billion grossing film and a huge profit for Universal so the franchise would have to fall completely apart with the new film to not lead into a new one.

Jurassic World: Dominion stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Justice Smith, Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Daniella Pineda, Jake Johnson, Omar Sy, Dichen Lachman, Mamoudou Athie, DeWanda Wise and Scott Haze and is currently set for a June 11th, 2021 release date.
