Damon Lindelof has his journey into the world of Watchmen in the can for HBO. Watchmen make-up artist Philonese West and costume designer Mandy L. Fason revealed on Instagram that filming has wrapped on the series, which will premiere on the service later this year.

Set in an alternate history where “superheroes” are treated as outlaws, Watchmen embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel while attempting to break new ground of its own. Lindelof’s take will be an original story with new faces and unknown characters introduced into the universe that he intends to remix. The cast includes Jeremy Irons as an older Ozymandias, Regina King, Don Johnson, Louis Gossett Jr., Tim Blake Nelson, Adelaide Clemens, Andrew Howard, Frances Fisher, Jacob Ming-Trent, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Sara Vickers, Tom Mison, Jean Smart as a mysterious FBI agent, and James Wolk.
