Quentin Tarantino and Uma Thurman are still talking about a possible third Kill Bill movie, according to the director. Tarantino appeared on the Happy Sad Confused podcast and said that he’s recently spoken with the actress about another go-around with Beatrix Kiddo.

“Me and Uma have talked about it recently, frankly, to tell you the truth,” Tarantino said (per JoBlo). “I have thought about it a little further. We were talking about it literally last week. If any of my movies were going to spring from my other movies, it would be a third ‘Kill Bill.’”

Tarantino has talked about making a third Kill Bill for years, including the possibility that it would involve Thurman’s heroine going up against Nikki, the daughter of Vivica A. Fox’s Vernita Green. After Beatrix killed Vernita in revenge, she told Nikki that when she grows up, if she ever wants to avenge her mother’s death, Beatrice would be waiting for her.

Tarantino has said that he plans on retiring after his next film following the about-to-release Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood, and that his last film could be his Star Trek movie. If this inspires him enough and he pulls the story together though, it seems possible we could get at least two more films out of him.
