Rian Johnson Says Luke Skywalker Was Consistent With Original Trilogy In Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Some Star Wars fans were not happy at all with The Last Jedi, and one of the reasons listed online was the changes made to Luke Skywalker. However, if you ask director Rian Johnson, he didn’t make any changes that didn’t fit the original portrayal. After a fan criticized the film on Twitter, Johnson replied with:

Hot take: Luke is in fact 100% consistent with his character (not the way he’s described in marketing blurbs, but his actual, based-on-his-words-and-actions character) from the OT. I’ll be at the bar if you need me.

The Last Jedi remains a divisive film in the Star Wars canon, but Johnson will return to the franchise with his own trilogy at an undisclosed date.
