Rick and Morty Renewed By Adult Swim For Two More Seasons
More seasons of Rick and Morty are on the way, with the Adult Swim series earning a two-season pick-up. THR reports that the critically-acclaimed animated comedy has been renewed for 11th and 12th seasons, which will keep it on the air through 2029.
The announcement of the renewal was made at New York Comic Con during a panel with series co-creator Dan Harmon, showrunner Scott Marder, and a number of the voice cast. Harmon said of the renewal, “Nobody wants a universe without Rick and Morty. Fortunately, the list of places to go remains infinite.”
“From Season One, Rick and Morty set a new standard in adult animation and has shown no signs of stopping,” said Adult Swim president Michael Ouweleen. “Dan, Scott and the rest of the immensely talented team behind Rick and Morty are constantly outdoing themselves and I’ll be joining the millions of fans around the world in looking forward to more adventures in the years to come.”
The series premiered in 2013 and is currently set to air its eighth season next year, with the show previously having been renewed through season 10.
