Robert Zemeckis & Guillermo Del Toro’s remake of The Witches will still be family-friendly, according to the rating given by the MPAA. The ratings board has given the new adaptation of the Roald Dahl nove a PG rating, citing “scary images/moments, language, and thematic elements.”

The film is directed by Zemeckis, who co-wrote the film with Kenya Barris and del Toro. It is the second adaptation of the novel, following Nicolas Roeg’s 1990 film that starred Anjelica Huston, Mai Zetterling, and Rowan Atkinson.

The new film stars Jahzir Kadeem Bruno, Octavia Spencer, Stanley Tucci, and Chris Rock, with Anne Hathaway as The Grand High Witch and is set to release next year. It is described as follows:

A little boy stumbles across a conference of witches while staying with his grandmother at a hotel, and gets transformed into a mouse by the Grand High Witch.
