Ryan Murphy’s working relationship with FX continues to grow after Nip/Tuck, American Horror Story, American Crime Story and Feud. Deadline reports that Murphy will produce a 1980s-set drama called Pose for the network. Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson and Sherry Marsh will also produce. Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Steven Canals wrote the project. Production begins in New York this October and Murphy will direct the first episode. It is set to debut in 2018. Casting has already started but is expected to focus on new and unknown actors.

Here’s a synopsis: Set in 1986, Pose examines the juxtaposition of several segments of life and society in New York City: the emergence of the luxury Trump-era universe, the downtown social and literary scene and the ball culture world.

Jacobson and Simpson join the project due to their overall deal at FX Productions, which co-produces with Fox21 TV Studios, where Murphy has a deal of his own.
