The CW has released the season four trailer for Supergirl, which will premiere on October 14 at 8 PM ET. Coming Soon reports that there are new additions to the series, including the transgender superhero Dreamer, played by Nicole Maines. Dreamer won’t be there at first, as her character Nia Nal is described as “the newest addition to the CatCo reporting team” and “a soulful young transgender woman with a fierce drive to protect others.”

The other new characters include April Parker Jones as Coloney Haley, a “hardline career military woman” who “lives and dies by the orders of her commanding officers. Dedicated to her country, she always acts in its best interest — even if it’s not her own.” David Ajala plays Manchester Black, “the type of guy who brings a knife to a gunfight and still walks away the winner. With a dark past, he easily deflects the brutality of his mission with his charm and sense of humor.”

The series stars Melissa Benoist as Kara Danvers/Supergirl, Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen, Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers, Jeremy Jordan as Winslow ‘Winn’ Schott, Katie McGrath as Lena Luthor, Jess Rath as Brainiac 5, David Harewood as Hank Henshaw/J’onn J’onnz and Sam Witwer as hero Agent Liberty. It’s executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Robert Rovner and Jessica Queller. It’s produced by Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
