Superhero Hype reports that after the world premiere of Batman: Hush, Warner Bros. announced three DC animated films for next year, including Superman: Red Son. Red Son is the first of the three and is based on the 2003 Elseworlds tale from Mark Millar and Dave Johnson.

The story follows a world in which Kal-El’s pod lands in the Soviet Union instead of the United States. This version of Superman is a strong believer in Communism and tries to conquer the world for Mother Russia. Alternate versions of heroes rise to stop him, with Lex Luthor as America’s last line of defense. It will debut in early 2020.

After that, Warner Bros. will release Justice League Dark: Apokolips War, which could be based on the Darkseid War arc from Geoff Johns’ run on Justice League, and then Superman: Man of Tomorrow, which will likely debut at next year’s Comic-Con. That will not be based on a comic.
