According to The Hollywood Reporter, Solo: A Star Wars Story is set to open to $130 million to $150 million during Memorial Day weekend, with $130 million on the low end. Disney could end up beating their own Memorial Day record, which they set with Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End in 2007 with $139.8 million, not adjusted for inflation. It’s expected to have a worldwide opening weekend of $300 million after opening in most territories like China.

However, it is expected to have the lowest domestic opening of all the four films in the reborn Star Wars franchise (The Force Awakens ($248 million), The Last Jedi ($155.1 million) and Rogue One ($155.1 million)).

It was directed by Ron Howard (who took over from Phil Lord and Christopher Miller) from a script by Lawrence and Jon Kasdan. It stars Alden Ehrenreich, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Joonas Suotamo and Paul Bettany. It will be released on May 25.

Here’s a synopsis: Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.

It faces the second weekend of Deadpool 2, which opened last weekend to $125 million domestically.
