After years of sitting in development hell, the reboot of The Crow has moved a little closer. Sony announced a release date for the film on Friday, with the movie set to bow on October 11th, 2019.

The reboot will star Jason Momoa as Eric Draven, the lead role played by Brandon Lee in the iconic 1994 original film. Eric returns from the grave as The Crow, a revenant on a mission to avenge his wife’s murder so that his soul can finally rest. The remake will reportedly hew closer to James O’Barr’s graphic novel than the original film.

Corin Hardy is directing the remake, which was written by Nick Cave. The remake has had a long, troubled development and production period, with a series of directors and stars passing through it over the years. The reboot was originally at Relativity Studios, but left the studio in November of 2016 after Relativity declared bankruptcy. Sony picked up the film in September of last year.
