Sony Pictures Sets Two New Marvel Films For 2020
Sony Pictures is moving ahead with their Spider-Man universe, setting 2020 release dates for two untitled films. According to a report by Variety, the company has set a July 10th, 2020 release date for an untitled Sony-Marvel project, and October 2nd for an untitled Sony-Marvel sequel.
The site says that the most likely option for the July date is the Jared Leto-starring film Morbius, based on the living vampire from the comic books. The sequel would almost certainly be a second Venom film.
Venom opened the floodgates for the Sony Spider-Man universe, having grossed $210.6 million domestically and $780 million worldwide. Outside of Spider-Man: Homecoming the film is the highest-grossing Marvel/Sony film since 2007’s Spider-Man 3. You can check out 411’s review of the film RIGHT HERE.
