In the midst of several other release date moves, Sony has pushed Marvel Comics adaptation Morbius to early next year. Variety reports that the studio has decided to push the Jared Leto-starring vampire film to January 21st, 2022 after MGM bumped No Time to Die from April into Morbius’ October 8th weekend.

The move comes just ten days after Sony delayed the film from March 19th into the October slot.

The film stars Leto as the titular Marvel character alongside Matt Smith as Loxias Crown, Adria Arjona as Martine Bancroft, Jared Harris as Morbius’ mentor, and Tyrese Gibson as an FBI Agent. Directed by Daniel Espinosa, the film is described as follows:

“One of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Oscar® winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero, Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. What at first appears to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed and transforms this healer into a hunter.”
