Spider-Man: Homecoming Gets $300 Million Domestically

Coming Soon reports that Spider-Man: Homecoming has passed $300 million at the domestic box office. It was produced by Marvel Studios and Pascal Pictures, with Columbia Pictures distributing. So far it’s earned $682 million worldwide. It just opened in Japan today and will open in China on September 8, which are both key markets. It’s the fourth film to get $300 million domestic this year. It had an opening weekend of $117 million after arriving on July 7. That was the third-highest domestic opening of the year and part of a $250 million worldwide opening weekend. It’s Sony’s fifth-highest grossing domestic film of all time.

Sony Pictures Releasing President of Domestic Distribution Adrian Smith said: “Congratulations to our partners at Marvel and everyone who worked on Spider-Man: Homecoming for reaching this important milestone. We couldn’t be prouder of the film and our incredible cast and filmmakers for delivering exactly what moviegoers wanted to see this summer.
