Deadline reports that Spider-Man: Homecoming screenwriters Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley are in talks to direct Dungeons and Dragons for Paramount and Hasbro’s AllSpark Pictures. The two most recently directed the comedy Game Night for New Line and Warner Bros. Pictures and were attached to The Flash at one point but have since left the project.

A new film based on the RPG game has been in development hell for some time, after it was last adapted in 2000. AT one point there was a legal battle over the game’s film rights. Warner Bros. and New Line tried to get a reboot off the ground, including with director Chris McKay. The critical failure of Warcraft cooled the studios on the reboot and eventually Paramount stepped in. The latest script was written by Michael Gilio. Brian Goldner and Stephen Davis will produce.
