Spider-Man: No Way Home jumped even higher for its opening weekend in the final box office numbers, rising to the second-best domestic opening of all-time. The final numbers for the MCU film landed at $260 million for the weekend thanks to the final Sunday numbers, up from the $253 million reported on Sunday based on Sunday’s projections.

That number makes the Sony/Disney collaboration the second-best domestic opening of all-time, ahead of Avengers: Infinity War’s $258.7 million and behind only the $357.1 million start of Avengers: Endgame. It brings the worldwide box office start for the film to $600.5 million. Needless to say, Sony and Disney are very happy about these results, which make it already a box office smash against its $200 million production budget (plus marketing).

It remains to be seen how high the film may finish out at, but considering the traditionally low week-to-week drops of films over the holiday season, but a final domestic gross of at least $700 million seems pretty likely and quite possibly higher. The film has some competition coming this coming week in The Matrix Resurrections and (for family audiences) Sing 2, but it will have a clear road after that for the next couple weeks after until Scream arrives on January 14th.
