Squid Game Creator Developing Satire About Netflix Show’s Creation

The creator of the megahit Squid Game is working on a comedy about the creation of the Netflix show. Deadline reports that Hwang Dong-hyuk is developing a series tentatively called The Best Show on the Planet that will be a satirical look at Squid Game’s overnight success.

The series will reportedly look at the show becoming a massive hit states as well as Hwang’s own experiences of suddenly becoming famous amid the whole phenomenon.

Hwang is also at work on a second season of the show, which is aiming for a Halloween 2024 release, as well as a new feature film inspired by a novel from Umberto .

Squid Game has set records for Netflix since its 2021 release with 1.65 billion hours in its first four weeks of release.
