The creator of Netflix’s hit series Squid Game has confirmed that a second season is in development. Variety reports that during a Q&A and screening of the Korean-language drama, Hwang Dong-hyuk acknowledged that he’s working on a second run for the global hit.

“There’s been so much pressure, so much demand and so much love for a second season. So I almost feel like you leave us no choice!” Hwang told the AP at the event. “But I will say there will indeed be a second season. It’s in my head right now. I’m in the planning process currently.”

Hwang noted that Lee Jung-jae will return as Seong Gi-hun, but didn’t give any other details, saying, “I do think it’s too early to say when and how that’s going to happen. So I will promise you this, Gi-hun will come back. He will do something for the world.”

Netflix has yet to make an official announcement and has not commented on the reports.

The news is far from a surprise considering Squid Game’s status as is the latest hit series from the streamer, sticking at the top of their Top 10 list for several weeks and garnering over 3 billion minutes watched according to Nielsen. Bloomberg reports last month that according to leaked documents, the series is projected to earn $891 million in revenue for Netflix, a massive return on the streamer’s $21.4 million investment.
