Star Wars: Episode IX Wraps Production, J.J. Abrams Shares New Set Photo

The cast and crew for Star Wars: Episode IX wrapped principal production this week. To commemorate the occasion, director J.J. Abrams shared a set photo on Twitter showing the main trio of Daisy Ridley (Rey), John Boyega (Finn), and Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron) sharing an embrace. You can check out that set photo below.

Abrams wrote in the tweet, “It feels impossible, but today wrapped photography on ‘Episode IX,’ There is no adequate way to thank this truly magical crew and cast. I’m forever indebted to you all.”

The upcoming film opens on December 20th, 2019. It stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, Billie Lourd, Naomi Ackie, Richard E. Grant, Dominic Monaghan, Matt Smith, Keri Russell, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, the late Carrie Fisher, and Billy Dee Williams.

The Star Wars sequel is produced by Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy, Abrams, and Michelle Rejwan. Callum Greene and Jason McGatlin are serving as executive producer.
