During the panel, Johnson was on hand alongside cast members Mark Hamill, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Gwendoline Christie, Kelly Marie Tran, Laura Dern and Benicio Del Toro. After he came out for his appearance, Mark Hamill joked how great it was that he didn’t have to stand next to Christie for the panel, joking “Talking about being short for a Stormtrooper. He also joked about the media taking some of his recent statements about Johnson and the new sequels out of context. For example, when he said with the new films would be impossible to please everyone, he joked about how media outlets would write that Mark Hamill says the new Star Wars movie to disappoint.

During the panel, it was joked about how Finn (John Boyega) will have to face Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie) after he recovers from his injuries, and the two actors had a humorous, mock face-off, with Christie towering over Boyega. Not much was revealed about the new characters portrayed by Benicio del Toro and Laura Dern. However, Rian Johnson did reveal some new film stills, including Dern as Holdo with a blaster. Johnson and Dern talked about how Dern would yell out “pew pew” with her gun while filming. Another film still showed Holdo standing in front of what appeared to be Poe Dameron.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi will feature the continuation of the Skywalker saga as the heroes of The Force Awakens join the galactic legends in an epic adventure that will unlock old mysteries of the Force and feature shocking revelations from the past.
