It should be no surprise that in the wake of the massive success of IT that more Stephen King stories would be turned into films. Variety reports that the next of these to get an adaptation is 1972’s “Suffer the Little Children.” The short story was originally published in Cavalier magazine and later appeared in King’s book Nightmares and Dreamscapes. It tells the story of a first-grade teacher who begins to notice that the children in her class are changing, with something sinister lurking beneath their skin, and could be related to recent deaths in her new town.

The film will be written and directed by Sean Carter (Keep Watching), with Craig Flores (Bread & Circuses Entertainment), Nicolas Chartier (Voltage Pictures), Sriram Das (Das Films) and JJ Meyers (Das Films) producing.
