Steven Spielberg & Warner Bros. Reviving Animaniacs

Freunlaven! Warner Bros. and Steven Spielberg are developing a revival of Animaniacs. IndieWire reports that Warner Bros. Animaniacs and Spielberg’s Amblin Television are in early talks to bring the iconic 1990s animated series back to the small screen. Details are few at the moment and there is no planned home for the new series at this time.

The original series aired on Fod Kids from 1993 through 1995, then moved to Kids’ WB until 1998. Spielberg, who developed the series as a follow-up to Tiny Toon Adventures, is involved in making the new version.

The series featured the Warner Brothers, Wakko and Yakko, and their sister Princess Angelina Contessa Louisa Francesca Banana Fanna Bo Besca the Third (aka Dot), who had escaped from the Warner Bros. lot watertower after being trapped there in the 1930s. They proceeded to cause wacky mayhem through various segments. The series also introduced the world to Pinky and the Brain, who had their own spinoff series.
