The third season of Stranger Things is out, and creators Matt and Ross Duffer are ready to tease what’s coming next. The Duffers spoke with EW about what plans they have for the next season.

With the third season of “Stranger Things” already shattering streaming records for Netflix, it’s pretty much a sure thing at this point that a fourth season won’t be far behind. Speaking with EW this week, in fact, creators Matt and Ross Duffer note that they’ve already got much of Season 4 mapped out. And they’ve offered up the first little teases tonight.

“We have the big broad strokes,” Ross Duffer told the site about their season four plans. “It’s just now about filling in those lines in the details. We’re pretty excited about where it’s potentially going to go. Again, like we said, it’s going to feel very different than this season. But I think that’s the right thing to do and I think it’ll be exciting … Assuming there’s a season 4, obviously the question of who that American is in that cell and then also what they’re doing with the Demogorgon, is a tease. That’s obviously going to play a huge role in a potential season four.”

Matt Duffer added, “I think the biggest thing that’s going to happen is it’s going to open up a little bit, not necessarily in terms of scale [or] in terms of special effects, but open up in terms of allowing portals into areas outside of Hawkins.”

Stranger Things’ first three seasons are now streaming. And while a fourth season isn’t officially confirmed, it is pretty likely to happen considering the show broke Netflix records.
