Stranger Things Star Finn Wolfhard, Carrie Coon In Talks for Ghostbusters 3

Variety reports that Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things, IT) and Carrie Coon (The Leftovers, The Sinner) are in talks to join Ghostbusters 3.

Coon would reportedly play the mother of Wolfhard’s character.

Jason Reitman is set to direct and co-wrote the screenplay with Gil Kenan. Reitman apparently did not want to use anyone from the Stranger Things cast due to the similarities between that show and Ghostbusters 3 but was blown away by Wolfhard’s audition.

The film is expected to be released in the summer of 2020.

Wolfhard’s Stranger Things season three drops on Netflix in July while IT: Chapter 2 opens in the fall.
