TMZ recently spoke to a survivor of the serial killer Ted Bundy, Kathy Kleiner Rubin, who commented on the new upcoming film Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. Zac Efron is starring as Ted Bundy in the new film.

Rubin was attacked by Bundy at Florida State University’s Chi Omega House in 1978. According to Rubin, she apparently doesn’t mind the new film with Efron as Bundy or the new trailer. However, she apparently think it plays more like an action film than a dark portrayal of a serial killer.

Rubin reportedly conceded that the film could potentially treat the subject matter “too lightly,” but she wants people to understand that Ted Bundy was a monster. She stated, “I don’t have a problem with people looking at it, as long as they understand that what they’re watching wasn’t a normal person.”

She added: “I believe that in order to show him in his exactly the way it was, it’s not exactly glorifying him, but it’s showing him. And when they do say positive and wonderful things about him, that’s what they saw. That’s what Bundy wanted you to see. So, it was picked up as that, and I think the movie does glorify him more than I think he should be. But like I said, I think everyone should see it and understand him as what he was, even when he was the perfect son. Hopefully, it will make women — and mainly that’s my heart is to care for the women — to be more aware of their surroundings and be more cautious.”

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile recently had its official premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. It does not yet have an official release date.
