The 411mania Dumpster Fire of the Week

Hello, everyone, and welcome to The 411 Dumpster Fire of the Week. I’m Bryan Kristopowitz.

Has the CBS show Blue Bloods run its course? I’ve been watching the sort of cop show/family drama since it started back in 2010 and now, towards the end of its ninth season, I can safely say that I’m sick of it. The show has become so trite and boring this season I think it’s time for the show to walk off into the sunset. The show, obviously, isn’t going anywhere, as it’s still the top rated show on Friday nights, one of the top rated shows on CBS period, it’s in heavy syndication on multiple channels at the moment, and the show was recently renewed for at least one more year. The show is still clearly a hit.

But still, the show is on my fucking nerves. Just about every episode is the exact same fucking thing. Frank Reagan (gig Tom, Tom Selleck) is in the midst of some sort of huge moral and or political thing involving the cops, Danny is about to have a fucking stroke in the middle of his next big case, Jamie doesn’t want to be seen as the son of the commissioner, and Erin is in the DA’s office struggling with some major political/moral issue that will eventually force her to talk with a family member so that family member can tell her that he can’t do anything for her because that would be perceived as “family bias.” And then, at some point, everyone gathers for family dinner so they can all put their two cents in on whatever political/moral issue Frank or Erin or Jamie are dealing with.

Am I the only one who continues to watch this show and wishes they would stop with all of the solemn moralizing, “serious” Tom Selleck pauses, and all of the other bullshit, and just lived their lives? I have a hard time believing that they all go through the same thing every single day, every single week, every single month, year after year. It’s just not as interesting anymore.

I wish they would do an episode where it’s just the family dinner for the entire episode. I’d like to see the entire family interact making dinner, eating dinner, and then cleaning up. I bet they could do it. The cast is still good and I think it would be a nice change of pace for what they normally do. A full dinner episode might also give Len Cariou and Sami Gayle something more to do. I doubt it will ever happen because the show has a successful formula and, again, people are still watching so why would the producers change anything?

I’m still going to keep watching. Probably. I still think the show has run its course.

Anyone else out there feel the same way, at least a little bit? Anyone at all?

And now onto this week’s Dumpster Fire of the Week.

This week, the 411 Dumpster Fire of the Week goes to failed 2016 Democratic Presidential candidate, current 2020 Democratic Presidential contender, and Independent U.S. Senator from Vermont Bernie Sanders, for recently announcing that it would be okay with him if the convicted Boston Marathon bomber is allowed to vote while being in prison. Well, that isn’t exactly what he said, as he was asked about felon voting rights at a recent CNN town hall for potential Democratic presidential candidates that included fellow candidates Senator Kamala Harris and Mayor Pete Buttigieg. In the course of answering the question, Sanders was pressed to answer whether or not sex offenders and the Boston Marathon bomber should be allowed to vote and Sanders said “yes.”
Yes, that’s right. Bernie Sanders, 2020 Democratic candidate for President of the United States, said that he thought it was a good idea to allow sex offenders and the Boston Marathon bomber the ability to vote.

Jesus Christ, Bernie, why? Why? Why the fuck would you say “yes” to that goddamn question? Why would you give President Trump’s reelection campaign and the Republicans a ready-made 30 second ad that will no doubt, if you happen to get the Democratic Party nomination, play non-stop in the run-up to the election? On top of the whole “socialism” thing, the whole “how can Bernie attack millionaires when he is one?” thing, the whole “the guy is fucking old” thing, and whatever else the ultra-right wing machine focuses on, why give the other side a full answer to that fucking question? How long have you been a politician? Don’t you know that, no matter what, you don’t answer a fucking question like that with “yes.”

Did Kamala Harris answer yes to that question? No, she said “we need to have that conversation,” which is perfect because it allows Harris to “study the issue,” “have the conversation,” and come to a decision later. Mayor Pete answered with “Felons should have the right to vote after they get out of prison, sure. But during their sentence? No,” which stakes out a “reasonable” position that makes it hard for the UR-WM to hit you with “He wants criminals to vote!”

Why didn’t Sanders give an answer like one of those? Again, how long has he been a fucking politician? Does he not know that you should never answer that question with a definitive answer?

But wait a second? Isn’t Bernie’s “authenticity” one of his positive attributes? Isn’t that why people give him money and support him? Bernie is just out there speaking from the heart and telling you what he believes. Why is that a bad thing?

It isn’t a bad thing for people who already support Sanders. It is a problem for people who haven’t made up their minds in the Democratic Party, and it sure as fuck is a huge problem in the event that Sanders gets the nomination. Because this could become the only thing the political chat shows talk about. And don’t forget, Sanders said this on CNN, “the Clinton News Network,” the home of the “liberal” media. Imagine what Fox News will do with this if and when Sanders is the Democratic nominee. Sanders won’t get any “help” from the “liberal” media because, shit, when has the “liberal” media ever actually helped a liberal candidate get anywhere (ask President Dukakis, President Gore, President Kerry, and President Rodham-Clinton how that shit worked out for them)?

This is the kind of shit that gets Donald Trump re-elected. Senator Sanders should fucking know that and he shouldn’t walk right into bullshit like this. Ever.

There really is no hope for any of them. There really isn’t.

And now for this week’s honorable mentions…

The Democrats, for their hemming and hawing about whether or not they want to impeach President Trump. What the hell are they waiting for? If they’re going to do it, they should start doing it right fucking now and make the case, over and over again, that the Mueller report shows that the President is a criminal, he surrounds himself with criminals, and he needs to be held accountable. Don’t equivocate, don’t say “I’m not there yet,” don’t say “we need to continue investigating,” stop fucking stalling. Do it or don’t do it. This is why the Democrats, by and large, fucking suck. They’re such giant pussies when it comes to this kind of thing. I mean, if the roles were reversed and it was found that President Rodham-Clinton had some sort of relationship with a foreign adversary and potentially obstructed justice the Republicans would have fucking impeached her within hours if not days. And if the “American people” and the “liberal” media didn’t like it, tough shit, the Republicans would have done it anyway because they know they would never pay any real political price for it (they sure as fuck didn’t pay a price when they impeached Bill Clinton).

Jesus Christ, he Democrats never learn anything, and this is another reason why they’re going to fucking lose in 2020.

-Dumpster Fire Hall of Famer and hard rock guitar God Ted Nugent, for his recent disgraceful Facebook post concerning removing Confederate statues, mosques, and 9/11. Just go ahead and read the story at the link and wonder, like I did, why people still flock to him (and why the NRA is okay being associated with him). And do you think it’s possible for the Nuge to not be a raging dumpster fire for one goddamn day day? I’m beginning to think that it isn’t.

The producers of Empire, for apparently considering bringing back Jussie Smollett despite the ongoing controversy surrounding his “attack” story. Smullett’s story still doesn’t make sense, and despite the charges against him being dropped, the Chicago police still believe Smollett staged the attack against him and essentially committed a massive fraud against the world. Why the hell would the show’s producers want to keep Smollett around with all of that shit still hanging over him? Why wouldn’t they just want to let him go and move on? Because you know and I know that this controversy will never go away. Are the producers really willing to go through endless questions about the controversy? This, much like Smollett’s story, makes no sense.

Sue Culwell, the woman in Coachella, California accused of dumping seven puppies into a dumpster, for apparently dumping seven puppies into a dumpster. Why would anyone do this? Why didn’t she take the puppies to an animal shelter? This woman is just awful. She deserves to have every book in the world thrown at her. Jesus Christ.
