New The Batman Set Pics Appear to Confirm Modern Setting, Existence of Other Heroes

Some new set pics from The Batman are online and appear to confirm that the film has a near-present day setting, as well as acknowledging the existence of other DC heroes. The pics can be seen below and show people in Superman and Wonder Woman cosplay or Halloween costumes, along with a photo purported to be of a Gotham city taxi that shows a 2019 date. That latter bit would seem to shoot down earlier rumors that the film would be set in the 1990s.
The movie is currently shooting in Chicago and is directed by Matt Reeves. It stars Robert Pattinson as the titular character, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Colin Farrell as the Penguin, Andy Serkis as Alfred, along with Peter Sarsgaard, John Turturro, and Jeffrey Wright and is set to open on March 4th, 2022. It’s described as follows:
In his second year of fighting crime, Batman explores the corruption that plagues Gotham City and how it may tie to his own family, in addition to coming into conflict with a serial killer known as the Riddler.
