The CW Eying New Arrowverse Series For 2020
With Arrow ending its run with its eighth season this fall, The CW is looking at adding a replacement series for 2020. Deadline reports that during the net’s TCW summer press tour, it was confirmed by CW president Mark Pedowitz that another series, set within the Arrowverse, is being plotted for next season.
Pedowitz said that while there is a “possibility” that they may do a spin-off of Arrow, they are currently focusing on another DC Comics property. “The fact that seven years ago, we introduced Arrow, who would have thought it would have spawned six shows, a whole universe that they managed to create,” he said. “It’s quite a remarkable feat.”
The Arrowverse has become a massive part of The CW’s bullpen, with The Flash, Supergirl, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow all spinning off from the original series or one of the shows that followed. The network also has Black Lightning, which will cross over with the Arrowverse for the first time this season, and Batwoman which launches on October 6th.
